- MENU MASTER 2.12 UPGRADE
- -----------------------------------------------------------------
- If you are upgrading to Menu Master 2.12 from an earlier version,
- this information will be helpful...
-
- TO UPGRADE
- ----------
- Simply copy the file MMPRG.EXE to your hard disk sub-directory,
- replacing the older version. Be sure that MENU.BAT also resides on
- the same sub-directory.
-
- MENU SETTINGS (ignore if old version is higher than 1.50)
- -------------
- Version 2.12 writes its settings in a new format to a file named
- MMSTR.STG. Version 1.50 and earlier wrote to a file named
- MENU.STG. If you wish to preserve your old settings, don't delete
- the MENU.STG file until you run Version 2.12 at least once.
- Version 2.12 will read your old MENU.STG file and will save the
- settings in the new format under MMSTR.STG. After displaying
- Version 2.12's menu one time, your old MENU.STG file is no longer
- used or needed and may be deleted.
-
- KEEPING IT SIMPLE
- -----------------
- The widespread acceptance of Menu Master is due largely to its
- simplicity. Most people like it because it is VERY easy for
- inexperienced users to handle and it's quick and easy for experts
- as well. Many registered users have sent in suggestions for
- improvements or new features and many of these ideas have been
- included in Version 2.12. However, every effort has been made to
- keep it simple, as you will readily see.
-
- NEW FEATURES OF VERSION 2.12 (as compared to Version 1.50)
- ----------------------------
- Here is a partial list of the improvements and new features:
-
- - Up to 24 Menu Items per menu. (previously 12)
- - Up to 7 Command Lines per Menu Item. (previously 2)
- - Display up to 3 lines of customized On-Screen Notes. This
- feature is a good way to provide special instructions for
- persons using your system.
- - Improved method of changing Menu Display Colors. Each Menu
- Prompt can now have its own color.
- - System Password can Protect: 1 - Escaping to DOS
- 2 - Modifying Menu Settings
- 3 - Changing Screen Colors
- 4 - Editing On-Screen Notes
- - Individual Password Protection of Menu Selections.
- - Optional turn-off of the Date/Time display.
- - Option to TOTALLY blank the screen after 3 minutes of inactivity
- to protect your screen.
- - Menu can reside on ANY sub-directory - not just the root
- directory.
- - Faster menu display.
- - Easier than ever before to set up multiple menus.
-
- Version 2.11 fixed a minor bug found in 2.10.
-
- Version 2.12 no longer echos passwords to the screen when
- entered. This keeps someone from learning your password by
- watching over your shoulder. All other features are essentially
- the same as Versions 2.10 and 2.11.
-
- I hope you like this new version. As always, your comments and
- suggestions are appreciated.
